Bulk Email: Google SMTP Settings
This tutorial will guide you through setting up your SMTP settings for a Gmail account in the SMS-iT email settings.
Navigate to https://aicpanel.smsit.ai/emailchats
Click on "SMPT Configuration"
We will fill in the settings, but first, we must create an app password in the next steps.
Log into your Gmail account that you'll be using in SMS-iT on the browser you are currently using. This ensures that when you go to Google Support, it will direct you to the correct email account.
Navigate to https://myaccount.google.com
Before creating an App password, ensure that you have 2-step verification enabled. If you haven't set up 2-step verification yet, follow these steps:
1. Click on the "Security" option in the left menu. 2. Proceed to set up 2-step verification by following the provided instructions. 3. Once 2-step verification is enabled, continue with Step 5 to create your App password.
Enabling 2-step verification adds an extra layer of security to your account, making it more difficult for unauthorized users to gain access.
Start typing "app passwords" until you see "App passwords"
Name and click on "Create"
Copy your app password.
Paste into "SMPT Email Password"
To complete the setup: SMPT Host Server: smtp.gmail.com Username: Your Gmail address Password: App Password Port: 587 for TLS, 465 for SSL, and 25 for TLS/SSL
Note: Transport Layer Security (TLS) is the upgraded version of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). TLS is the newer, more secure version of SSL and is recommended in almost every situation. For this example, we'll be using both TLS/SSL.
In the field "SMPT Username " field insert your email.
In the "SMPT Host Server" insert: smtp.gmail.com
For the "SMPT Port Number" field insert "25". Note: for this example, we'll be enabling both TSL/SSL security.
Toggle on "Enable SSL" and "Enable TLS"
Click on "Enable SSL"
Click on "Test SMTP"
The SMS-iT system will send an email to your Gmail account mail. Please confirm, that you receive the test email before continuing.
Click "Save"
Your email account is ready to use.
