Respond-iT is an innovative tool integrated within SMS-iT, designed to streamline customer interactions through text messaging. With Respond-iT, users can effortlessly handle customer inquiries by simply texting a word or phrase. Understanding Respond-iT:
Respond-iT offers versatile matching options to cater to diverse customer queries:
Exact Match (Case Sensitive): This option matches the exact word or phrase entered by the customer, considering the letter case. Exact Match (Case Insensitive): Similar to the previous option, this match disregards letter case, ensuring flexibility in customer inputs. Contains the Message: Respond-iT identifies customer messages containing the specified word or phrase, facilitating efficient response to relevant inquiries. Matches the Regular Expression: For advanced users, this option allows defining custom patterns using regular expressions to accurately filter customer messages.
Use Cases:
Exact Match (Case Sensitive): Ideal for situations where precise matching is crucial, such as accessing specific account details or confirming order numbers. Exact Match (Case Insensitive): Useful for general inquiries where customers may not adhere to consistent capitalization, ensuring seamless interaction regardless of letter case. Contains the Message: Helpful for identifying keywords within longer customer messages, enabling prompt responses to queries embedded within broader context. Matches the Regular Expression: Advanced users can leverage this option for intricate filtering requirements, such as extracting structured data or parsing complex requests.
Go to Respond-iT
Click on the "Smart Tools" icon.
Click on "Respond-iT©"
Click on "Create"
Create Respond-iT
Name your Respond-iT.
Under the "Name" field, Respond-iT will soon introduce a text box titled "Description (for internal use only)." Here, users can input additional context or details related to their SMS interactions. This may include the purpose of the response, the target audience, specific queries addressed, or any other relevant information. Leveraging this field empowers users to efficiently organize and analyze their SMS interactions, enabling clearer delineation of each response's purpose within their marketing campaigns.
In the Respond-iT system, the message represents what the individual seeking information will text in to receive a response. Each inquiry is distinguished by a "|" or "pipe" symbol.
Click on "Select Send Number" and choose a number through which the response will be delivered.
The "Respond if" field has four choices. In this example we'll use "contains the message". The four choices are explained in the first green slide of the tutorial.
Add your response to the inquiry in the "Responder message" field.
A mandatory opt-out message will be appended to every response to ensure compliance and provide recipients with the option to unsubscribe.
Click on "Save"
Your "Respond-iT" has been created.

To test, simply text a word or phrase to your assigned Respond-iT number, and it will send back the corresponding response.
