How Link Tracking works URL Creation: The SMS-iT system generates a unique, trackable URL for each link you want to monitor. Click Tracking: When someone clicks on the trackable link, they are first redirected through the CRM's servers before landing on the final destination This allows the system to record the click.
Create a link
Click on "Add Link"
A popup will appear that you will insert your URL that you want tracked in
We'll use a long URL from home depot - the other advantage of using Link Tracking is it also shortens links much the same way Bitly and TinyURL does - for this example we'll copy the URL
Paste the URL Click on "Create"
You're URL is shortened and added to the list - above the newly created URL is your original URL
Test # of clicks
Click on the "Copy" icon
Open a new tab in your browser and paste the link. When you navigate to this URL, it will redirect you to the original website you had inserted.
Refresh or reload the SMS-iT page, and you'll see that your click has been registered.
