Facebook Messenger connect to SMS-iT Smart Inbox
Navigate to https://aicpanel.smsit.ai/home
This guide will connect your Facebook direct messages (DM) to the SMS-iT Inbox. To successfully integrate with the SMS-iT Platform, the following prerequisites are required:
We'll be toggling between the SMS-iT platform, the Facebook Business platform, and the Facebook Developer platform. The URLs will be in the guide as we go.
Click on "Quick Links"
Click on "Smart Inbox"
Click on "Inbox"
Click on "Facebook"
Click on "Next"
We will now fill in this info. "
Create an App in Facebook
Navigate to: https://business.facebook.com/settings
Click on your account.
Click on "Apps"
Click on "Add." Note: If you have already added an app, use this menu option. If it's the first time adding an app, you'll use the screen in the next slide.
If you haven't already added an app this screen will appear, and just click "Add".
Click on "Create a new app ID"
Select "Other" and click on "Next"
Select "Business"
Click on "Next"
Name your app in the "Add an app name" field and click "Create app"
You'll be asked for your Facebook password to create your app. Then click on "Submit"
Make App "Live"
Click on App Mode: Development "Live"
Click on "Basic Settings"
Complete the Privacy and Terms of Service fields.
Add an App icon.
Click on "Messaging"
Click on "Save changes"
Toggle to "Live"
Your app is now live. Note: Facebook may ask you to refresh the page before the toggle works. Simply refresh the page, and your app will go live.
Create Token
Navigate back to: https://business.facebook.com/settings/system-users/
If you are not in the system user page click "System users".
Click on "Generate new token"
Click on "Select an app"
Click on the app you just created.
Click on "Never" for token expiration.
Scroll down.
Select "pages_messaging"
Click on "Generate token"
Do not click on "OK" until you have copied your token.
Before proceeding, manually highlight and copy your token. Do not click "OK" before copying it and pasting it into the SMS-iT field labeled "Access Token".
Paste into "Facebook Page Access Token"
Click on "OK"
Task completed.
Add Facebook App ID.
Navigate to: https://developers.facebook.com/
Click on "My Apps"
Click on the "logo" for your app.
Copy "App ID"
Paste into "Facebook App ID"
Task completed.
Facebook Secret ID
Click on "App settings".
Click on "Basic"
Click on "Show"
Click on "Submit"
Copy "App Secret"
Paste into "Facebook Secret ID"
Link Facebook to SMS-iT Smart Inbox
Click "Create Facebook Channel"
Click "Next" Note: If the page doesn't link you'll need to click nest and back again to finish the linking process."
Click on "Previous"
Your channel should be linked.
Add Webhook
Click on "Add Product"
Scroll down.
Click on "Messenger" "Set Up"
Scroll down.
Click on "Configure"
Edit Callback URL
Click on "Next"
Click on "Next"
Click on "Copy" Callback URL
Paste into "Callback URL"
Click on "Copy" Verify token.
Paste into "Verify Token"
Click on "Verify and save"
Click on "Manage"
Scroll
You'll need to subscribe to 5 fields: messages_deliveries message_reactions message_reads messages messaging_optins
Click on "Subscribe"
Click the "X" after you subscribe.
Continue to subscribe to: messages_deliveries message_reactions message_reads messages messaging_optins
And the last one is "messaging_optins"
Click the"X" after you have finished.
Task Completed.
Complete App Review
Click on "To send and receive messages, request"
Click on "Request Permission"
If you have the correct and valid permissions, you'll be directed to this page. Here, fill in all the necessary information and submit it. Approval typically takes around 5-10 days. Once approved, you can begin messaging using the SMS-iT platform.
